My Photo
Name:

I'm a miserable failure. I do what I should not do, and don't do what I should. In this I take after the first human, Adam, who represented me at the creation of the universe. The God who is has spoken in the Bible. He has revealed that the consequences of his and my violation of God's will is an eternal death - separation from all of His goodness forever in conscious anguish. But God, who is rich in mercy, sent His own Son to become a Man. He kept the law that I failed to keep. He died the death that was due to me. God accepted His sacrifice on behalf of sinners like me and showed this by raising Jesus up from the grave. Jesus now reigns at the Father's right hand, and His Spirit is present with His people, helping us to fix our eyes on Christ and be strengthened to repent and to walk in new obedience, now that we are adopted as God's own children. Not to prove ourselves, but to joyfully express our thanksgiving for this salvation that has been freely given to us. We continue to fail, and He continues to be merciful in His steadfast love, forgiving our sins, and promising never to leave us or forsake us.
